Volunteer Opportunities At TriCon 2026

Day-of volunteers must be registered for TriCon or be the spouse/significant other of a registered attendee.

Exceptions may apply if prior arrangements are made with the chair of that task.

Ushers (fka Ambassador)

Organizer:
Mark Clear (6250 Madison) Volunteer Chair

Ushers play an easy but pivotal role ensuring a comfortable and seamless experience for participants and organizers throughout the event. From the start of district meetings on Friday through Saturday’s dinner, Ushers greet and guide participants to various activities and locations, collect tickets prior to meals and ensure an organized dining experience, monitor workshop attendance to prevent overcrowding and maintain smooth traffic flow.

Various spots have descriptions that begin with these words to differentiate their roles. They include,

  • Captains: Manage and oversee the tasks and volunteer schedules. These spots are filled by the Volunteer Chair.
  • Greeters: At the day's start, greeter welcome attendees and guide them to the registration check-in or other places they're looking to go.
  • Door:  These volunteers' role is to track occupancy levels, ensuring safety compliance, and preventing overcrowding by monitoring the number of people entering or exiting.
  • Entrance:  Collect meal tickets before attendees enter the dining area.
  • Workshop: Similar to “Door”, these volunteers' role is to track occupancy levels, ensuring safety compliance, and monitoring the number of people entering or exiting.
  • PolioPlus:  See below
  • Guides:  After dinners, these volunteers help attendees with any questions, including “Where do I pick up my Silent Auction Basket?” or “How do I get to the hospitality room (or Tom Foolery celebration)?”

Other duties may include helping the TriCon planning team to set up or break down different aspects of the TriCon Conference rooms and hallways (like flags, signs, handouts, or table tents).

Your presence helps create a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring the event operates efficiently.

PolioPlus

Organizer:
Rob Bassett (6270 Mitchell Field), District 6270 PolioPlus Chair

PolioPlus Volunteers at TriCon play a crucial role in ensuring the success of donation collections and the smooth operation of the silent auction. Responsibilities include collecting auction baskets from Club Members, completing and organizing silent auction paperwork, and displaying baskets for auction. After the auction closes, volunteers assist by collecting payments from participants and helping auction winners with their items.

Note:
  • The spots that start with Captain are filled by the PolioPlus chair. Their role is to manage and oversee the tasks and volunteer schedules.
  • For those helping to check out our silent auction winners, there is some walking and lifting as you may be helping with retrieving the baskets from the tables, collecting funds, or handing the baskets to the winning bidder.

Your efforts make a significant impact in supporting this important cause!
